7 - Genoa sheet
Important rope characteristics for a genoa sheet are: low elongation, good grip, and flexibility. Grip end flexibility are particularly important for yachts up to 36ft, where there is still a lot of manual rope work. Larger sailing boats carry the genoa sheets on a winch and that makes that grip fibers are not important.
Low elongation is required for properly trimming your sail: when wind increases, the genoa should stay flat. For cruising yachts polyester ropes are a good choice. More demanding cruisers should go for ropes with less elongation. Ropes with Stirotex® cores are in this case recommended.
