The C-Clip System: revolutionizing downwind sail handling
Sailing at the highest level demands precision, efficiency and equipment that improves performance without compromise. The C-Clip System, designed by Conurban Marine, is a smart solution for managing downwind sails and furling downwind sails on racing sailboats.
Grand Prix ready
Designed for serious downwind sail handling and high-pressure racing environments.
Race proven
Headfoil compatible
Available for common headstay foil systems including Tuff-Luff, Harken and G-Foil G6.
Tailored fit
Smooth hoists
Keeps the halyard controlled during the hoist and releases automatically when fully hoisted.
Efficient handlingWhat is the C-Clip System?
The C-Clip System is a tracer device designed to guide and manage downwind sails and furling systems around the headfoil. It is customized to match the specifications of your headfoil system and headstay, ensuring a secure fit and reliable function.
The system is available for all headstay foils, including Tuff-Luff, Harken and G-Foil G6, as well as all Tylaska trigger sizes. This makes it suitable for many of the most common Grand Prix racing configurations.
Protects hardware
Soft edges and a tailored shape help protect headfoils, halyards and rigging materials.
Cleaner hoists
Guides the halyard during the hoist and reduces the risk of twisting or misalignment.
Reusable system
The C-Clip is reusable and reversible, making it practical and cost-effective.
Ready to stow
The system includes a ramp for smooth ejection and a garage for tidy stowage.
How the C-Clip works during the hoist
The C-Clip manages the halyard during the hoist of a downwind sail, helping the crew work faster and with more control.
1. Secures the halyard
Keeps the halyard close to the headfoil
During the hoist, the C-Clip keeps the halyard aligned and close to the foil. This helps prevent tangling, twisting and excessive movement as the sail is raised.
2. Guides the hoist
Improves control and reduces friction
By holding the halyard in position near the foil, the system supports a smoother and more efficient hoist with less stress on the halyard and surrounding rigging.
3. Releases automatically
Clean release at full hoist
Once the sail is fully hoisted, the C-Clip interacts with the ramp mechanism and releases from the forestay, headfoil or Tuff-Luff.
Why the C-Clip matters
Managing downwind sails is one of the most demanding parts of high-performance sailing. The C-Clip System helps solve common problems by giving crews a streamlined and reliable way to control sail tracers without damaging sensitive rigging or slowing down maneuvers.
