15 - Backstay tensioner
The backstay tensioner runs through blocks, with a gear ratio of e.g. 1:4. In this case less rope tension and less influence of rope elongation is noticed. Regatta sailors can use SK38 Dyneema® or Stirotex® for a backstay runner.
